Cd inkjet printer Questions and AnswersWhat is the best way to print on CD? Inkjet or Thermal?Q) Hi,
I need to print black text (maybe images but this isnt so important) onto blank CDs to be of reasonable quality / durability.
As I need to print hundreds of copies cost is a major factor.
I would like to know the best & cheapest way to do this?
I am aware of 2 ways.
A dedicate thermal printer such as the Primera Signature Z1.
or an inkjet printer such as Epsom Stylus R220 which prints to disc.
Speed, cost, quality- any ideas?
Also, what about the cd disc label stomping?
thanks!
A) Thermal is going to give you the fastest and most inexpensive results, however it may be tough to get labels or CD's that can do a thermal print. Thermal paper is much different than regular paper and often not readily available.
If you can get a consistant source of supplies, then defiantly go thermal. The only advantage to ink jet is that supplies are easy to come by. However it is the most time consuming and expensive way to print.cheapest inkjet printer to run i.e. cost of ink to print cd/dvd covers etc.?A) use the one at work or use you mates.epson are really cheap to run and very good at printingWhere can i find blank cd for thermal printing?Q) I want to bulk buy a 100 pack of CD-Rs.

A) try www.acecopydisc.co.uk - we use them for our band and they do thermal print on to disc so will have suitable ones - you can try calling them and see if they will send you some blank discs to print yourself. I always find them to be friendly and helpful. Sorry I don't know their number off hand but i'm sure its on the website.

Notice: this link is for a Windows XP computer. You can choose another operative system if you don't have Win XPBest Printer For Printing Track Listings Onto CD-Rs Please?Q) Hi, I would appreciate pointers on this.
Internet research seems to produce the following:
-Casio and TDK make thermal printers that can print only appx 16 lines. As most CDs average about 20 tracks, this seems dumb!
-Other thermal CD printers may allow for more lines to be printed but seem poor for reliability from user reviews.
-Epson inkjet printers may take a long time to dry, upto 24 hrs according to some users. Any comments on this?
-I have read nothing bad about the Canon iP4200, but would be interested in peoples' experiences...good or bad.
-Lexmark seem not to make a printer with CD printing? Seems strange, but I couldn't find mention on their website.
-Hewlett-Packard ...as Lexmark
Would appreciate any other thoughts you have on this as well!
Some people also say that the tray for printing CDs in the Epson is flimsy. Others report no problems. Perhaps a problem now resolved? Any experiences?
A) I'm looking for an answer to the same question.
I do have an Epson R200 which I bought maybe 2 yrs. ago. It prints cd's nicely, however even when they dry if you touch them with wet fingers or spill water on them, the ink will run and ruin it.
I don't know if this problem has been solved with the Epson's yet.
Flimsy tray? I didn't have a problem with it.
It says it takes 24 hrs to dry... I don't think it matters if it is dry or not, it can still smudge when dried if you touch with damp fingers or get it wet.Which all-in-one (scan/print/copy) inkjet printers available for purchase today support CD\DVD printing too?Q) I'm looking one that's as cheap as possible to operate, that means's mostly that there's a CISS that can be bought and operated along side the printer that's recommended.
As for the printer itself, I just need it to be able to print pictures at a medium quality, but text at very very small size (like 5pt sized text or smaller) very readable (like laser printers can)...
Thank you all in advance.
A) Most of the new printers and new All-in-Ones from canon come with capability of printing on CD/DVD
such as:
mp 530 ( 4in1) with ADF
mp 830 ( 4-in-1 with ADF
mp 500 3-in 1
mp 800 3-in-1
mp 800R 3-in-1 with Wi-Fi connectivity
and also normal printers such as :
ip 6600D
iP 5200/ip5200R
iP 4200
they print direct on Printable CD's/DVD's and they come all of them with quality print of 9600dpi and 1 pico litter droplet size for printing sharp text and very small dots.
but they are all bubblejet
you won't find a laser printer with capability of printing on CD's because most of the CD's don't resistence the heat
all of them uses separate ink tanks and all of them come with duplex printing either and very high quality out put and the printing speed is amazing
trust me go for one of those ;)
try www.canon-europe.com

CCI Products SpecialistI have an HP inkjet printer which worked with my previous driver. Now I have a new laptop with XP?Q) I used to run on ME. Well anyway the driver is not compatable with XP. Will I be able to download a compatable driver somewhere? Sorry I am somewhat inexperienced at drivers. I was trying to install the printer with the previous cd and got the message.
A) Yeah, you can pull the drivers from online.Doesn't matter a laptop or not?Where do I find a laser printer that will print on DVD and CD?Q) I am looking for a laser printer that will print the tops of CD's and DVD's we produce for our clients here. I am not satisified on the job my Epson inkjet does.
A) Any laser printer will do that if you have the right program to do it, you are just printing the labels you cannot run a CD or DVD through a printer, and I don't blame you I don't care to much for Epson either.I have a HP printer and its not working - Please help!!!?Q) I have got a HP Inkjet printer (HP deskjet 3325)
It was working absolutely fine. But then due to some reason I had to restore my computer. The printer didn't work after that. It is not on the list I mean. I think there might be some driver or something for it. I don't have my installation CD.
Can I download the driver from internet? If so from where?

A) i went through the saame problem. i have an HP All-In-One[printer,scanner,fax,etc].and my aunt wanted to borrow it so she can scan some photos. when she finally gave it back, the disk wasn't no where to be found. so my mom had to call HP support:1-800-888-0292. or call 1-888-9909.
and i was also chatting with a representative. (i had to tell him that you were my friend) so he gave me this link. click here:
http://www.hp.com/
he even gave me the link where it had your printer's series(deskjet 3325) i typed the link for you to click on it because you could've just ordered it online with that site but the page couldn't be displayed...so i took the link off.
