Electric shavers Questions and AnswersMens' Electric Shavers?Q) I have been using a Philishave three head shaver all of my shaving life and need to buy a new one. Can people please let me have their feedback on how they find their electric shavers, what make they prefer, any particular model number or type, any bad experiences? I am not looking for comparisons with wet shaving, just recommendations for a good electric mens shaver as I am thinking of buying a different make as the Philshaves have been fine but they now come so expensive if you want a feature packed model.
A) Tried the rest, but Philishave -- Norelco in the US -- is simply the best.
Yes, the top models are very expensive, but they do incorporate the latest improvements, the best batteries etc. and are remarkably durable.
The SmartTouch models are currently their top range.Electric shavers vs blades. Avoiding razor burn?Q) On the right side of my neck I get sore red spots from shaving, and notice that my hairs lie very flat against the skin on this part of my neck. I've only tried cheap electric shavers, and they've always made the problem much worse, is it worth risking buying an expensive top-of-the range electric shaver, or will it be just as bad?
What are the best razor blades to use to avoid these problems? To avoid razor burn, is it better to shave every day, or to let the skin lie fallow for a few days (and sport a cool Miami Vice style designer stubble!).
A) I've suffered the same problem. Don't shave every day, but do toughen up the skin, by scrubbing with soap. Shave with a blade, in the bath, take you time, but DON'T GO BACK OVE R THE SAME PATCH OF SKIN. Shave from the eyes down to the chin, then the chin down to the neck. If you want to try electric, get a good Braun, and after a bath or shower, LET YOUR SKIN DRY FULLY. Pat some talc over your face, and then shave with the razor - don't loiter on one spot, work quickly, and don't press hard. Better to leave a little than take too much. Wipe off the talc, and apply an alcohol-based aftershave.
Good luck.shaving legs ?electric shavers? whats the best?Q) are electric shavers any good? are they better than shaving? just because when i shave my legs it either only lasts 5mins or comes out spotty. any ideas or reveiws on whats the best?

A) im a beauty therapist, i would suggest waxing it is a little bit painful the first couple of times, but you will get used to it and it is well worth it, if not try an epilator, dont use razors o shavers your hair grows back thicker, and dont use creams they burn away hairs and can damage skin hope this has helpedElectric shavers (male) what it the best type to buy?Q) I am fed up paying for razor blades and cutting myself. I am thinking of buyting an electric shaver but do not know what type is the best. I presume the more expensive the better, any suggestions
A) Any make of electric razor is fine but here are a few points to remember before you buy:
1) When you start using this product you will find your skin seems rather dry This will last a few weeks till your skin gets used to it In the mean time buy a good quality "electric aftershave lotion"
2) Make sure the razor has at least 3 floating heads
3) Price: The price reflects the quality of the parts and shaving head blades I.E. the more the razor costs the better the quality
4) A good quality razor will start at around £50 If you buy one at less than this you will always be buying new blades or have to sharpen the old ones
5) One other thing Make sure it has a sideboard trimmerDoes anyone have any advice regarding mens electric shavers?Q) I've been using a philips 3 head shaver for years now and I'm quite used to using them. Problem is, they never get the hairs under my neck very well and I've been doing a bit of investigation to see whether or not the foil type shavers are better. Can anyone comment?
A) The electric shavers donot give total clean and smooth shave. It works where the skin is relatively tight. For clean shave only blades are best.Electric shavers are best during travel,to avoid soap and water.I use Phlishave(Philips) during travel only. Why dont they make electric shavers that plug straight into the power supply?Q) why do we always need a shaving plug? Wouldn't it be easier to make a plug that does whatever a shaving plug does and attach it directly to the shaver?
A) Because it would put plug adaptor makers out of business lol.ladies electric shavers?Q) are they any good for shaving leg hair, under arms and bikini lines.
if so what products is best and cheap
A) go to a tesco supermarket they are the best place for good cheap shavers and they are fantastic.the best ones to get are from boots stores but there expensive.you will spend arond 15 to 25 pounds for one thats perfect to use and make sure u get rechargable battries becouse you dont want to start something you cant finish.haha i cant tell you the best product but iv got a nivia one from leeds maket and i only paid £10 and its great, try buy online thats were you find the best and cheapiestWhat's the difference between electric shavers with foil and rotating heads, and which is the best one to buy?Q) Not interested in fancy extras such as 'Clean & Renew', and the shaver should be equipped with a MAINS facility at least.
Thanks for any recommendations guys!
A) If you are black, get a philishave with rotating heads and different cutting degrees and moisturiser, cos them other ones are gonna mash your skin up. Black man's hair is different, a lot thicker and curlier. Don't get a foil one.do all electric shavers hurt like hell?!?!?Q) or just mine!
A) I've actually used some that don't hurt. BUT, I have yet to find one that I can use after two days of growth that doesn't hurt! PLUS, I only use disposable razors now since they seem to get me the cleanest shave. Most electric razors I've used in the past just don't seem to shave close enough for me.Does anyone use those electric bikini shavers? If so...?Q) Do they give you less red bumps than wet shaves?
A) Yes they do I have one and it's great but sometimes I find that it doesn't give a close enough shave. I often use Gillette mach 3 turbo and I find that it gives a great shave and it doesn't leave me with a rash. You should always moisturise after shaving, it will moisten the skin and not cause a rash.
electric shavers?Q) what are good electric shavers for sensitive skin? is there some kind of conditioner used with some of the new electric shavers or are they all used on dry skin? i want to get one for my boyfriend but his skin is kind of sensitive
A) Get him a Norelco Rotary head shaver, they're the best !!!Electric Shavers?Q) Alright so i have an extremely sensitive neck. Everytime i shave with a razor the next morning i break out like no other. Its horrible. Do Electric shavers reduce this? OR is it a shaver for lazy people? Also do u know if the more expensive ones make a difference.
A) i got a braun razor and it helps with the irritation on my neck, but it still irritates sometimes too.Electric Shavers?Q) What is the best way to clean electric shavers? I Think that my one might be giving me acne as I do not clean it properly
A) WHEN I CLEAN MINE I DIP IT INTO ALCOHOL WHILE IT IS RUNNING.Electric shavers???Q) For the money, which is the best electric shavers for men out there. My friend wants one for Christmas and I thought I'd get one and surprise him, but really know nothing about them. Thanks in advance!
A) Vidal Sasson is a great brand.. really, they are all good.electric shavers?Q) hi. do electric shavers have different level settings? Ideally, when I shave, I want to leave a shade (rough to the touch) rather than having a clean shave. currently, i wet shave, so this is not possible. thanks
A) use a beard trimmer their like mini hair clippersElectric Shavers...?Q) I was just wondering if a guy's electric shaver works better than a girl's because my friends that have electrics say the suck so would it be worth it to get a guy's? (if so which kind?)
A) I used to use my husband's and it worked so much better than mine. His was the round triple head.electric shavers?Q) bought a remington electric shaver. not getting a close enough shave on my legs... what am i doing wrong? can i use it to shave anywhere else or stick with just the legs?
A) electric shavers...good or bad?Q) alright...so i just got this new electric hair shaver for my boyfriend... i want to know if electric shavers are good or he should just stick with the normal manual shavers? he's kinda got sensitive skin.
A) It really depends on your boyfriend and what he prefers.
I personally prefer electric, but my brother prefers the manual shavers. He once tried an electric shaver and started getting a lot of bumps and went back to using the manual shaver.
I've used electric since I was in high school, so my skin is used to them.
If your bf wants to use electric, he may need to "train" his facial hairs to get used to the electric shaver. This may take a couple of weeks, but eventually he will get used to it and he will not get anymore bumps.Does electric shavers work?Q) I am a black male and I get razor bumps on my chin when I shave with conventional razors so I'm trying to make the switch to electric shavers.
I bought a $20 electric shaver a few days ago but it doesn't give a clean shave. It sucks!
Should I buy a more expensive shaver ($60) or is it all the same?
I will also appreciate any tips on how to get rid of razor bumps, thanks.
A) epinions.com is a good consumer rating site too. I'd tell you which one I have but I misplaced it. I bought another one , diferent brand model but it wasn't as good . ~electric razors are great, i don't deal with cuts , but sometime i think manual disposals are better because of the moisturising of the shaving cream .... anyway I prefer electric or not shaving at all...Men Electric Shavers, what’s the best?Q) 1. What’s the best men electric shaver in the market, that is practical and can take even the smallest hairs?
2. Did any body used Braun Cruzer or Braun 360, what do you think of them?
3. And what's better: foil shavers or rotary shavers?
A) I have found the cheaper Braun foil shavers do better than the expensive ones.
